Join the Los Angeles Railroad Heritage Foundation (LARHF) on Thursday, May 2, as they honor the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad and unveil our latest satellite history exhibit here at Philippe’s French Dip Restaurant in downtown LA.

Dinner includes a special talk by LA historian Marc Wanamaker!
LARHF will bring to life film epics Iron Horse and Union Pacific and the AMC series Hell on Wheels with rare photographs and large scale railroad models. To celebrate Union Pacific’s restoration of massive “Big Boy” steam engine no. 4014 (of LA Fairplex fame), LARHF will match our own no. 4014 (below) with an equally beautiful model of “living legend” engine no. 844.
The evening will begin at 6:00 pm with a Philippe’s French Dip dinner including salad and a drink, followed by our special guest who will “pull back the curtain” on the display and talk about Hollywood’s love of trains. Following Marc’s talk, Philippe’s will present the movie Union Pacific on its big flatscreen TVs. Cost is $25 and tickets can be purchased here. Must be a LARHF member. Space is limited; deadline for reservations is Thursday, April 25.
