The Los Angeles Explorers Club will begin their quarterly bike ride at the Historic Philippe’s. The “LA Noir” bike adventure will take place Sunday, Nov. 1.
Since Philippe’s has such a storied history or more than 100 years, it is the perfect starting point for the journey that will take place through Downtown Los Angeles.
The tour starts at a time after Philippe’s journey began.
The bike ride will investigate the city’s past through the roaring 1920’s, and Philippe’s has been serving food since 1908, and is Los Angeles’ oldest operating and most historical restaurant.
The trek will start at Philippe’s (1001 Alameda) and end at Clifton’s Cafeteria (648 S. Broadway). Some riders may not want to leave after they meet up at Philippe’s once they smell the aroma of the that slow roasted meat and delicious Dolores chili. Let’s be honest, they should arrive much earlier and pig out on Philippe’s and then work off the meal during the bike ride. We know that’s what we would do.
