This holiday season, for the first time, Philippe’s is partnering with the Union Rescue Mission to help bring holiday cheer to those in need.
Those willing to donate can bring in a new, unwrapped toy to Philippes’ restaurant. The gifts will go to children and teens in need. Toy or gift donors will also be entered to win one of two $50 Philippe’s gift cards.
The inaugural toy and gift drive takes place from Nov. 1 to Dec. 6. Anyone can drop off their unwrapped gifts and toys to the candy counter inside the restaurant, where they can also enter the raffle. All donations will be dropped off to the mission for distribution to families in need just in time for the holiday season.
Philippe’s will be donating as well, filling up toy barrels in their downstairs dining room by the candy counter. This adds to the restaurant’s charity work. Philippe’s gives back to the local community throughout the year.
Philippe’s works with over 25 educational and charitable organizations on a continuous basis, and provides thousands of dollars in food donations throughout LA County each year.
Their generosity has been extended to hospitals, charity golf tournaments, shelters and medical research foundations.
Philippe’s has a long, storied history, starting in 1908. Since its start, it has been making delicious sandwiches, soups, salads, and much more on its extensive menu, and cafeteria style restaurant.
Since 1891, The Union Rescue Mission has been dedicated to assisting men, women and children experiencing homelessness with the compassion of Christ. They provide emergency and long-term services to their guests to help them get off the streets of Skid Row.
The non-profit organization was established in 1891 and is one of the largest rescue missions of their kind in the United States, and the oldest in Los Angeles.
